How JAGOs is consumed, part one

Consumers – you and me – drink JAGOs at home, alone or with friends, over ice, in coffee (my favourite) or if we’re feeling a bit show-offy, poured over Chambord with the back of a teaspoon and a steady hand.

Favourite recipes

Minty Bitch
50ml JAGO's
Handful of mint
Ice
Muddle mint in a shaker
Add ice and JAGO's and shake hard for 15 seconds.
Serve in a cold Martini Glass and garnish with a strawberry

50ml JAGO's
30ml milk
10ml Malibu
Shake over ice, pour over ice cubes in to a highball glass and garnish with a mint sprig

3 Strawberries
25mls JAGO’s Vanilla Vodka Cream Liqueur
25mls Citron flavoured Vodka
15mls Friase du bois
10mls Lemon Juice
Dash of suger syrup
Muddle Strawberries in a shaker
Add all other ingredients and shake over Ice
Serve in a cold Martini Glass and garnish with a strawberry

Dash of Grenadine
Shaken and serve in our Tiger Lily glass. Garnish with Wild

Avalanche
30 JAGO’s Vanilla cream liqueur
15ml Blackwood’s Premium Nordic Vodka
15ml Butterscotch liqueur
Shake over ice. Pour into a martini glass that has been drizzled with metled chocolate and refrigerated.
Garnish with chocolate shavings.

Chocolate Mousse Martini
Jagos Vodka Cream Liqeur,
Smirnoff Vanilla Twist Vodka,
& Creme de Cocoa
Red Dish Martini Bar, NY

HORNY SPORRAN
15ml JAGO’s Vanilla cream liqueur
15ml Malibu
15ml White crème de cacao
15ml Pineapple juice.
Combine ingredients in a Boston shaker.
Add ice. Shake heavy. Pour into a martini glass.
Garnish with chocolate shavings.

MILKY THISTLE
15ml JAGO’s Vanilla cream liqueur
25ml Dalwhinnie Scotch Whisky
5ml Disaronno Originale Amaretto
15ml Frangelico
Build ingredients over ice in an old fashioned glass.
Add JAGO’s last.
Garnish with crushed honeycomb.

Shake over crushed ice. Serve in frozen glass

Method: Blend all ingredients
Garnish: Pineapple

F.J. PINEAPPLE COLADA
30ml Frangelico
30ml Malibu
60ml Pineapple Juice
30ml JAGO’s Vanilla Vodka Cream Liqueur
3-4 Pieces pineapple
Method: Blend all ingredients
Garnish: Pineapple and crushed nuts
Glass: Tulip

BANANAS IN PAJAMAS
30ml Lena Banana Liqueur
30ml Frangelico
15ml Drambuie
30ml JAGO’s Vanilla Vodka Cream Liqueur
½ Banana
Method: Blend all ingredients
Garnish: Banana slice

BERRY VANILLA
30ml JAGO’s Vanilla Vodka Cream Liqueur
30ml Frangelico
1tsp Raspberries
1tsp Blueberries
Method: Layer JAGO’s, blend remaining ingredients with ice
Garnish: Berries
Glass: Standard cocktail

DRUNKEN SMOOTHIE
50ml JAGO’s Vanilla Vodka Cream Liqueur
1tsp Raspberries
1tsp Blueberries
Method: Blend berries with ice then quicly blend in JAGO's
(remember it’s real cream and will thicken if you blend it too long!)

CINNAMON EGG JOGG
50ml Matusalem Clasico
10ml Cinnamon Schnapps
50ml JAGO’s Vanilla Vodka Cream
20ml Milk
Pinch of cinnamon
Dash of egg white
Method: Shake and strain over ice
Garnish: Sprinkle of cinnamon
Glass: Old Fashioned

J's CHOCOLATE DRINK
30ml JAGO’s Vanilla Vodka Cream Liqueur
Hot chocolate
Cream (lightly whipped)
Sugar (to taste)
Optional spirit or liqueur: Frangelico, Kahlua, Whiskey.. Suggestion: add Lena Banana Liqueur to create a JAGO’s Choc Banana… or try Frangelico for a JAGO’s FrangeliCoco!
Method: Pour the JAGO’s and the optional spirit/liqueur into a coffee glass; fill with hot chocolate; stir; top with whipped cream; add sugar if desired.

COOKIE MONSTER
50ml JAGO’s Vanilla Vodka Cream Liqueur
30ml Crème de Cacao Liqueur
30ml Milk
2 Oreo Cookies
Method: Blend with Ice
Garnish: Cotties Chocolate topping around edge of glass, dipped in white chocolate or crushed Oreo cookie.
Glass: Tulip

COFFEE with a J
30ml JAGO’s Vanilla Vodka Cream Liqueur
Hot Coffee
Cream (lightly whipped)
Sugar (to taste)
Optional spirit or liqueur: Frangelico, Kahlua, Whiskey.. Suggestion: add Mozart Chocolate Liqueur to create a Hot Vanilla Mocha!
Method: Pour the JAGO’s and the optional spirit/liqueur into a coffee glass; fill with hot coffee; stir; top with whipped cream; add sugar if desired.

Choice is a dangerous thing

We are starting to put together a list of all our favorite JAGOs cocktails and we've hit a snag. How are we going to list them?

We are thinking of a system where you search by final flavour with an option of what mood your in, what do you think? we'd have a default facility to search by name but thats rather dull.

The world is awash with books and web sites all claiming to offer the 'best' or most comprehensive guide to making a drink. Virtually all fall down with there indexing/contents/search techniques.

But are a few we liked

For finding out about what a drink should/is called Rob Cassels book The Cocktail Keys is pretty clear. It also features the most minimalist of content pages backed up by pages of fab photography by Todd Antony.

Dale Degroff's book as you would expect, has a fulsome index but his web site is a tad skimpy when it comes to ease of search. facilities

For a true labour of love you have to take you hat off to Patron Spirits, this site rocks, all we kept thinking was 'how long did that take to build!!!'
